一个家喻户晓的故事，似乎都这样被串起来。 被迪士尼卡通美化的彼得‧潘，是否真的有着这麽阴暗的一面？ 日本节目节录了这两段话。 The boys on the island vary, of course, in numbers, according as they get killed and so on; and when they seem to be growing up, which is against the rules, Peter thins them out; -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a grown-up dies; and Peter was killing them off vindictively as fast as possible. 简单来说，节目用这两段话指出了当孩子们长大，彼得‧潘会让他们变得瘦一些(饿到死 ？)，并执傲且急切的杀了那些长大的孩子。所以在梦幻岛的孩子的数量才会如此稀少。 在查阅了原着故事之後，发现一件事，就是这两段话相距蛮远的。 第一段是出自Chapter 5. The Island Come True。第二段则是出自於Chapter 11. Wendy's Story。 两段章节相距颇远，而第二段的原文内容是这样的... But of course he cared very much; and he was so full of wrath against grown-ups, who, as usual, were spoiling everything, that as soon as he got inside his tree he breathed intentionally quick short breaths at the rate of about five to a second. He did this because there is a saying in the Neverland that, every time you breathe, a grown-up dies; and Peter was killing them off vindictively as fast as possible. 这里是说，由於传说奇幻岛上每呼吸一次，就会有个大人死掉，所以彼得‧潘每隔五秒呼 吸一次，执傲地想把大人们尽快地除掉。 看到这，似乎感到日本节目是故意移花接木，制造耸动的话题，实在太过分了!! 是吧!? 是吗？ 这本书是在西元1911年由J.M. Barire所着。距今也才97年的时间，而当时对於大人的辞 汇，相信也不少，即使是童书，相信对於大人这种词汇，也很少去刻意简化。但我们可以 发现，原着中，对於奇幻岛上的大人都是用grown-up来代表，为什麽？ 孩子都会长大，书中除了温蒂一族人回到家了之外，其实并没有叙述过去以及未来的那 些奇幻岛的孩子长大後何去何从。而且，既然人会老去，那麽海盗也会老去，新生的海盗 又是如何漂流至奇幻岛，为何他们无法离开奇幻岛这个世界？ 若这些grow-up，暗指的是这些孩子长大(grow up)之後的样子，那麽把这些孩子带来奇幻 岛的彼得‧潘，本身是否有着某些诡异的因子在里头？而那些孩子，全数长大了吗？亦或 是还来不及长大就已经「消失」在这个世界？亦或是... 这些孩子真的就因此饿到死(强 迫瘦身，营养不良)？ Any way, it's a little creepy! -- H.C.
