1. The acquisition of knowledge doesn’t mean you’re growing. Growing
happens when what you know changes how you live.
获得知识并不意味者成长。只有当我们把得到的知识用在去改变自己的人生，
这才叫成长。
2. Change is often resisted when it is needed the most.
最抗拒的改变往往也是最亟需的改变。
3. Discipline is choosing what you want most over what you want right now.
所谓严以律己，就是选择你最想要的，而非当下就想要的。
（好比一个人一直想要存到100万，但却无法克制血拼的冲动与慾望）
4. People seldom do things to the best of their ability. They do things to
the best of their willingness.
很少有人尽全力做事；通常是看自己愿不愿意而已。
（非不能也，实不为也）
5. You can’t change other people; you can only offer guidance, and lead by
example.
我们不可能改变其他人；我们只能提供导引，同时提供过往的案例让他们自己
做决定。 （师长父母教育孩子时的准则）
6. Right now, there’s a lot you don’t know. And if you never challenge your
own beliefs, the list will never shrink.
此时此刻，有太多我们不知道的世间事。如果我们不挑战自己的信仰，不知道的事只会
越来越多。
7. If you’re talking to someone you don’t know well, you may be talking to
someone who knows way more about the topic of conversation than you do.
当我们跟不熟的人聊天时，在聊的话题，对方很有可能知道的比我们多太多。
8. The most common and harmful addiction in the world is the draw of comfort.
最常见但也是最害人不浅的瘾头是安逸。
9. Growth begins at the end of your comfort zone. Stepping outside of your
comfort zone will put things into perspective from an angle you can’t
grasp now.
成长始於离开自己的舒适圈。踏出舒适圈会让我们以一个全然未曾体验过的新角度
去体验事物。 （这就是我之所以认为独自旅行是人生之必要的原因）
10. Most of the bad things you worry about will never happen. Most of the bad
things that do happen will have never have crossed your worried mind.
大多数你担心的坏事从来不会发生。大多数的坏事反而是那些你从来不曾想到的事。
11. Some circumstances are uncontrollable, but we can always decide how we
react to those circumstances.
有些情况的确无法控制，但是我们可以控制我们如何应对对这些状况。（90-10 准则）
12. Those who complain the most, accomplish the least.
抱怨最多，成就最少。
13. Whenever somebody discredits you, and tells you that you can’t do
something, keep in mind that they are speaking from within the boundaries
of their own limitations.
当有人看轻你，告诉你不可能成功时，要提醒自己，这些人只是从他们自己能力的极限
来预测你的不可能。
14. Every problem you have in your life right now is your responsibility,
regardless of who initially caused it.
此刻我们生命中所有遭遇的难题，不管是谁造成的，都该是我们自己的责任。
15. Being busy and being productive are two different things.
穷忙与有生产力是两回事。
16. The bad news: nothing is permanent. The good news: nothing is permanent.
坏消息是，没有什麽事永恒不变的，而这同时也是好消息。
17. Problems, when they arise, are rarely as painful and hurtful as the
process of fearing them.
问题产生时，没有什麽比害怕处理问题更痛苦。
18. Confusion isn’t a bad thing. It means you’re growing and thinking.
困惑不是坏事，这意味着我们在成长、在思考。
19. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
能做，但不代表应该做。（这也是另一种「非不能也，实不为也」）
20. In the beginning, you need to say “yes” to a lot of things to discover
and establish your goals. Later on, you need to say “no” to a lot of
things and concentrate on your goals.
一开始时，我们必须对很多事情说Yes，这样才能发掘并且确立目标。接下来我们
就必须对很多事情说No，这样才能专心致志於我们的目标。
21. Even if it doesn’t cost any money, it’s not free if it takes up your
time.
即便不用花钱，只要会花时间就不是免费的了。（时间成本的重要）
22. Screaming at people always makes things worse.
对人吼叫只会让事情更糟。（>, <）
23. When you’re up, your friends know who you are. When you’re down, you
know who your friends are.
当你发达时，朋友都知道你是何许人物；而当你失败时，可以很轻易看清你的朋友
是怎样的人。
24. If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you. You
shouldn’t have to fight for a spot.
真正希望有我们在人生中相伴的人，一定会挪出空间给我们的。我们没有必要去
极力争取。
25. We rarely lose friends, we usually just figure out who our real ones are.
我们鲜少失去朋友。我们只是弄清楚什麽是真正的朋友。
26. Good looks attracts the eyes. Personality attracts the heart.
好看的外表吸引目光，可敬的人格吸引心肠。
27. If you aren’t happy being single, you won’t be happy in a relationship.
You have to create your own life first before you can share it with
someone else.
如果单身时不快乐，恋爱时也不会快乐的。一定要有自己独特的生活方式，才能与
另一半分享。
28. Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of
you.
生命何其短，不该花时间在那些取走你幸福的人身上。
29. Giving up doesn’t always mean you’re weak, sometimes it means you are
strong enough and smart enough to let go.
放弃不意味着你是弱者，有时代表你得够坚强，够聪明才知道放弃。
30. Sometimes you need to distance yourself to see things clearly.
有时得站远一点才能看清事物的真面貌。
31. You can’t make the same exact mistake twice. The second time you make
it, it’s no longer a mistake, it’s a choice.
我们不会同一个错误犯第二次，因为第二次再犯时，就不是个错误了；那是选择。
32. Not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
得不到时，未尝不是种幸运。
33. Blowing out another’s candle will not make yours shine brighter.
吹熄别人的蜡烛并不会让自己的生命之烛更耀眼。
