Applicants should request an evaluation of their eligibility at least one year in advance of the application filing period for the examination which the applicant intends to sit. For example, if an applicant intends to sit for the July bar examination the Request for Evaluation shall be submitted to the Board at least one year prior to the commencement of the April filing period for that July examination. The Board will not commence its review of the request for evaluation until the Board is in receipt of all required documentation. When the Board is satisfied that all necessary documentation has been received, the Board will commence its review and provide the applicant with a written decision in due course. Please allow at least ten to twelve weeks from the date of the Board’s receipt of all of the necessary documentation for a decision to be made in your case. At this time, a determination of your evaluation request is not required to be received by you prior to submitting your application to sit for the examination during the appropriate filing period. However, applicants should be aware that if they submit an application to sit for the bar examination prior to receiving an advance determination of their eligibility from the Board they do so at their own risk, and the $750 application fee will not be refunded or credited if it is later determined that the applicant in not eligible to sit for the bar examination. Please also note that all transcripts and proofs submitted to the Board become the possession of the Board and will not be returned to the applicant. To request an evaluation of your credentials click on the link located at the bottom of this page. You will be directed to a portal which will require you to create an online account. Upon creation of the account you will be assigned a unique BOLE Identification Number which you must use for all correspondence with the Board.
