标题[问题] 请问一下AD信的内容

收到penn state EE 系上发的AD信，截取其中一段想请板友们帮忙解惑
Professor X in the area of Control Systems has indicated
that he is willing to act as your temporary advisor. If you have any
questions, you may contact Professor X by email at
[email protected]. We
will not be able to provide financial aid. Please do not contact your
temporary advisor, or any other faculty, regarding funding opportunities.
You should wait until you arrive here and contact only the faculty who
advertise an assistantship position.
我对这一段的理解是:
系上不提供financial aid的意思是没有fellowship，但是我应该可以去找TA跟RA
然後RA跟TA我只能到学校的时候才能找，不能现在在台湾就询问学校的教授是否有RA跟TA
是这样吗?
我疑惑的是甚麽是"temporary advisor" ? 既然Prof. X指定要我，那不就代表假如我入学
他就肯定是我的advisor了，难不成我还可以去找其他教授当advisor?
还有如果Prof. X指定要我的话，那为什麽我不能跟他讨论RA跟TA的事?
还有要到学校才去找RA跟TA是正常的吗?
诸多疑惑，恳请了解相关事宜的版友帮忙解惑。
P.S. 顺便问一下有没有现在在系上的前辈可以站内信连络我一下，想问一些问题，感谢!
