小弟前几天收到UIC ECE的国际邮件 里面附了两封信，大致看了内容之後 不是很确定对於信中的内容 以及有些地方有疑惑 第一封信是他们 Director of Graduate Studies Department of ECE的信 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Mr Wu. On behalf of the graduate admission committee of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department I am pleased to recommend your admission to Ph.D. degree program in Electrical Engineering for Fall 2011. The Office of Admission and Records must still approve this recommendation for admission following which you will be informed about the decision. Registration material will then be forwarded to your current address as soon as all necessary documents are submitted. (第二段是说他们有EE和CE两个课程可以互转，不过录取PHD的不能转成MS) I have assigned Prof. Ansari to act as your temporary course selection advisor. You should carefully read our graduate program information available at http:// www.ece.uic.edu. You mav contact your advisor in case you have problem in selecting courses. (後面说明该教授的联络方式). You are encouraged to attend the department new student orientation, which wiil be held on August 19 in 1000 SEO . Time to be announced. (後面说我对於这个Graduate Program有问题可以问这个人). Congratulations and welcome to the ECE Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago! I am pleased that you have chosen our program to pursue your graduate degree. The department has provided the following information for your convenience: (後面一连串关於他们ECE的资讯) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 小弟不太懂的地方是 (1)这个看起来似乎是录取信，不过之前爬文的时候前辈们都会提到信中会有提到 关於financial aid和回覆是否要去的deadline。小弟这封信却没有??? (小弟之前有收到他们这样的来信 Upon reviewing your application we found that you did not submit the The Application for Graduate Appointment Form. This form is required if you wish to be considered for financial aid. Please visit the link provided. Your signature is required so must sign and then email a scanned copy or you may fax it to 312-996-6465. Please complete the form and submit as soon as possible. https://grad.uic.edu/pdfs/grad_appt.pdf Sincerely, 我看他是说如果要被审查委员考虑给financial aid 就要把这个填一填寄回去，因为文中也没有说我已经上了还是怎样 所以我就填一填寄回去了~顺便捕上之前少的一份文件) 而且他们还直接指定了一个暂时的选课指导教授给小弟，然後鼓励我参加8/19的新生 欢迎会。信件最後还跟我说他非常高兴我选了他们来念PHD 这中间我也没回覆说我一定会去念@@?? 是我想太多了，这只是美国人的用词吗? 还是这只是事先通知我的信 等学校正式发的录取信才会有提到关於financial aid和回覆的deadline 然後那时候我再决定就好了?? (2)因为小弟想等其他间学校的结果再来选择，如果真的是小弟的问题 造成他们系上认定小弟已经100%确定小弟会进他们系上就读 那麽小弟该怎麽说明呢?? 文张有点长且乱，如果不小心放到闪光请见谅<(_ _)>_ --
