标题[问题] CMU的Financial Support from Department

小弟在申请CMU的时候，系上网页有这麽一段话:
If you have asked to be considered for financial support through the
department, then it is not necessary to attach or upload these documents into
the application system.
想请问如果选择需要系上的financial support的话，会不会影响录取机会呢?
在这里的financial support应该不是指奖学金吧?
我有寄信给系上秘书问过这个问题，好不容易收到他的回信後，却独独不回答我这个问题
