You can also see the big mistake of 1937, when FDR gave in to the austerians of his era. 你可以发现赤字出现在利率下跌之後，而不是在下跌之前。而且更大的赤字从不曾 推昇利率。你也可以发现1937年的那个重大错误，当罗斯福对他任内的austerians 作出让步。(编按，那个字不知是啥意思) Still, you can make excuses for Hayek and friends: this was all new territory, and macroeconomics barely existed as a field. 你还是可以帮Hayek和朋友们找藉口：这是一个全新的领域，而总体经济学也几乎 还未成为一个学术领域。 What’s terrifying is the fact that, as Brad notes, the arguments of today’s pain caucus are exactly the same as those Hayek was making in 1932, except that they’re less well expressed.
