标题[创作] Wanting Tears

Why can't I cry, even though
I know it's the end;
it's as if you've died. And still
no tears run down my slen-
der cheeks for you.
I remember, when I passed away, how
your passionate grieving gushed forth
like an artesian well's last long spray and
you hugged me so tight I could no more
breathe than comfort you.
Now you're dead, buried and nought; all that's
left are your sensuous residue
and some memory. So why do my thoughts of you
not end in tears; maybe, in truth,
I didn't love you.
Not quite as much as I was loved by you.
