Once again, we're here
where we shouldn't be, mouths
full of passionate hypocrisy.
A one-man bed for two.
Objectification and nostalgia run wild;
your pitch-black face
a comforting anchor amidst the gradient shades of infinity.
City lights substitute for stars.
Peace is broken by motorcars.
Lying where we shouldn't be,
I touch you lightly in the dark.
Softness floats in mid-air
as I see you with my fingers from the inside out.
Only one of two
electric fans spin bravely
against the winds of an oncoming typhoon
that the weatherman once again
mispredicts.
He isn't the only one.
