Her hair keeps me in trance
(The flow! The seam!)
Her eyes, exuberance
(So deep! What gleam!)
Unaffected aura
(Like wind! Like sea!)
Everlasting flora
(Her name, you see!)
She brings smiles to my face
(She does! She does!)
Her laughter, like embrace
- But my Muse has shifted
To darker enlistments
I find my insistence
Is exhibited
To ineffective
Attempts at indicative
Romantic balladry.
I stop delib'rately.
