Song of Valentine
A field of spring,
Gentle finger in streaming green
Weaving thought by beauty’s wing
Lazy sleep on sheets unseen.
So it lies within your grasp:
From waking blush till dawn of white,
Air of serenity rippled in whisper,
Liquor in drops arousing delight.
Glamorous shine, generous and kind,
Sweetest of orange, expelling all fright
Under what ruthless and sharp
Shaven clean and bounded tight.
A smile so shy, charm unmatched,
Under gown of black, yet graceful and bright,
Flawless and soft are her healing fingers
With milk and myrrh, a comforting night.
Thus it runs wild but pure,
Passionate zeal under brilliant light,
Brewed and ripe, my blood and breath,
Delicate peddles craving your lovely sight.
May my heart be swift,
Not to haunt what elegance divine
Firmly rooted, bearing fruit for you,
Fresh pressed and casked, a glass of wine,
Sharing what devotion in every cheerful sip,
Rowing a dream on the sapphire Rhine.
