标题[创作] Cancer

If my felicity had ceased on‘count
Of thy appearance, I'd have grieved until
Thy swollen clay consumed a large amount
Of stamina and etherized my will.
The changes thou gave me─thin hair, sallow face,
And haggard body─all incredible,
But real; relentless Time scoffed at this case,
Considered it the irredeemable.
Yet this decaying house ablaze with lights,
A fire in hearth still burned and warmed the room;
I frolicked by the fire, enjoyed delights
Of mastering my life before the doom.
Be not amazed! My Spirit got unchained
Despite thou noxious shackles still remained.
