What’s the payment system? A student signs up for a minimum of two classes a week, for one month, and pays. For example, “Advanced” Mondays and Wednesdays; NT$95Xthree hoursXfour weeks. 2. What happens if I miss a class? The low cost of tuition means that payment credits can only be given for “typhoon days”, public holidays, teacher’s illness, etc. 3. Can I attend occasionally and make a lesson-by-lesson payment? Unfortunately it would be too difficult to accommodate the possible variations in student numbers. The small class size is designed to provide close attention of students but this means there’s a strict limit on how many can attend. 4. Can I have one-to-one classes? This will probably be possible, subject to available times. 5. Will it be easy to park my motorscooter? It is probably not possible to park a motorscooter anywhere in Taiwan. 6. How about opportunities to talk freely? It’s up to you. 7. Do you assess students so they are streamed into suitable classes? This will be done as far as practical but some students have high participation levels yet lower reading skills, etc so it’s difficult to be precise. 8. What are the teaching materials? A well-known and respected magazine will form the basis of most lessons, except Travel, which will be prepared specifically and distributed in class. 9. Must I buy the teaching material? If you want to get the most out of any English class, reading through the text before and after class is essential for your progress, so ….yes. 10. Will I be able to understand your British accent? Although you may notice the accent, it shouldn’t prevent your comprehension. --
