Virtual Tour Report Week 15 Dec. 22 Challenges and Opportunities in Globalizing Communication GCTST Ch.13 “Summary and Conclusions” Virtual Tour Report Week 16 & 17 Dec. 29 & Jan 5 Group project Presentation 教学方式 lectures and discussion 教学助理工作项目 课程要求/评分标准 1.Attendance and Participation (30 points) Students work in small groups (2-3 students per group) to complete the following assignments. ‧Virtual Tour Report (15 points): Each group is required to visit one website of international organization or global research institute listed on pages 4-5 of this syllabus. Each group will be scheduled and given 15 to 20 minutes in class for making a report of your virtual visit. The report should include a brief introduction of the main purposes, features, activities, and researches of the organization or institute and must be posited on NCCU e-learning website one day prior class report. ‧Class Presentation and discussion (15 points): Each group is responsible for one weekly topic. Class presentation and discussion should include a brief summary and synthesis of the main points of the assigned readings for the week, insights or ideas that the readings provoked for you, and at least three questions that the readings raised for you. You should try to engage the class during presentation and discussion. Outline of class presentation and discussion must be posted on NCCU e-learning website one day prior to the class meeting. 2.Group Project (50 points) Students work in small groups (2-3 students per group) to conduct an in-depth analysis of any issue of globalization and communication, or develop an original research paper oriented toward observations of how the world has changed as a result of the global communication process. Websites of databases listed on pages 5-7 of this syllabus may be useful for conducting your group project. ꄊEWeek 8 and 9 ( Nov. 11 and 13) will be devoted to the presentation and discussion of the outline of group project. Each group has to turn in a project outline one day before the class meeting. (15 points) ‧Week 16 and 17 ( Dec. 29 and Jan.5) will be devoted to the presentation and discussion of the final draft of group project. (20 points) ‧Group project final draft will be due on Jan.12. (15 points) 3.
