Sergio Vartolo 毕业於义大利北方的 Bologna 大学， 并於 Bologna 音乐院 ( Conservatorio of Bologna ) 学习管风琴与大键琴演奏。 1970年开始於欧洲巡回演出， 身兼管风琴家、大键琴家、指挥、舞台指导、歌唱家等数种身分。 现於 Mantua 音乐院教授大键琴演奏。 其录音散见於 Naxos, harmonia mundi, TACTUS 等厂牌， 对於 Monteverdi 以及 Vecchi 作品的诠释特别受到好评。 Early Music Review 对其评价为： "There is plenty of gusto here, coupled with a stylish command of the madrigal settings... I can thoroughly recommend it..." Fanfare 杂志对於其 Monteverdi ( on Naxos ) 诠释的评价： "The singers are excellent and integrated into a carefully prepared ensemble...
