读完小说有一点挥之不去，找到简中版挑了一段我喜欢的段落，但有些语意不是很正确。 1. 翻译：「有人把他当作某种布道者，但他不是他们的见证人，也不是当前之事或未来 之事的见证人，他只是最微不足道的人。」 原文的意思则是，他是「最不可能见证之人」。这样译没看懂原文的意思。 2. 翻译：「如今他有了一匹马，一支左轮手枪，一套基本的装备。」 原文的意思应该是，马跟枪「就是」这套基本装备。 3. 再者是我不会把「certain deference」翻译成「敬重」，至多应该只是礼貌对待。 不论如何，这一段还是美极。 He was at this employment for some months and he left it without notice. He tr aveled about from place to place. He did not avoid the company of other men. H e was treated with a certain deference as one who had got onto terms with life beyond what his years could account for. By now he’d come by a horse and a r evolver, the rudiments of an outfit.
