标题[请问] 文中的"I can't be sorry"该如何翻译？

内容是关於多年前他的一部小说<死亡禁区>中的某个反派角色，
某程度预言了後来川普当选美国总统的现实情节。
他说:
"And if that reminds people of Trump, I can’t be sorry because it was a
character that I wrote."
那个"I can't be sorry" 是要表达"没有遗憾或抱歉"呢?
还是要表达"无法说出很遗憾或抱歉"？ 或是其他比较贴切的中文翻译？

喔喔，所以他的意思是说，"我不认为因为我写出了这个角色而有错"。
就是说不能因为他写出这个角色就归咎於他的意思。我好像懂了...谢谢板友们。
