Chelsea striker Didier Drogba looks all set to star in the Ivory Coast's
opening World Cup game against Portugal today.
The forward suffered a fracture to his arm in the Elephants' warm-up
friendly against Japan in the run-up to the tournament.
His participation had been in some doubt, but it seems now that he will
play after the referee for the game in Port Elzabeth has confirmed that
the player can wear a cast to protect the arm.
"Regarding Didier Drogba, the referee of the match Jorge Larrionda has
okayed the cast which Didier Drogba will use to play," said FIFA's head
of media Nicolas Maingot.
"The cast has been seen by the Portuguese delegation."
