The Wizards will have a decision to make on July 8 that will have major implications for their future, as on Sunday the Sacramento Kings offered small forward Otto Porter a max contract in free agency. That is according to Chris Haynes of ESPN, who first reported the news. Once the signing period of free agency begins on July 6, the Wizards will have 48 hours to match the number. Given Porter is a restricted free agent, the most a team can offer him on the open market is four years and about $106 million. If the Wizards match and retain his rights, he will be the highest paid player on their team on an average annual basis. Porter, 24, averaged 13.4 points per game last season and shot 43.4 percent from three-point range.
