Venus won a singles match with Kournikova 6-3, 6-2, during the exhibition, which raised money for several charities. Venus took four straight games to win the first set 6-3. Kournikova took a brief lead in the second set before Venus used her powerful serve. In the second set, Kournikova handed over her racket to a fan, giving him a chance to return Williams' serve. He swung and missed. Venus' serve has topped 127 miles per hour. Known mostly for her supermodel looks, Kournikova has not played competitive tennis in 18 months because of injuries. "I haven't played much lately," Kournikova said. The players said they appreciated the casual pace of the exhibition. "You play looser," Venus Williams said. "All of your shots go in." The fundraising event benefitted several charities, including the Tubby Smith Foundation, the Jamal Mashburn Excel Scholarship Fund and The Owl Foundation, a charity founded by Williams' mother, Oracene Price. --
