前言﹕原文颇长﹐不要期待我翻译完或正确XD
Military History: A historiography
by GUNNAR ARTEUS
It should be stated at once that this article encompasses only
Western historiography, which means that e.g. Arabic and Chinese
history-writing have been unaccounted for. This is, needless to
say, highly regrettable but has been enforced by circumstances.
The present writer, being illiterate in non-European languages,
has elected to say nothing rather than something, which is not
really well-informed, about the writing of military history in
Africa and Asia.
开宗明义﹐本文内容仅至於西方史观。换言之﹐并不包括来自其他地方的史
观﹐比如说中国或阿拉伯。因为资料与篇幅有限﹐故不得不为此感到遗憾。
现代的西方历史学者大多不通欧洲以外的语言﹐往往对於欧洲以外的历史发
展﹐宁可保持缄默﹐不做任何评论﹐盖亚非等各地之军事历史﹐皆难以获得
足够的资讯。
