New Volunteer Options Also take the opportunity to inform you about our new programmes. Ecuador Programme: Solely Child Aid projects have begun in this country. Precisely 2 projects in same province called (Guayas Province) which is located at the coast of Ecuador. The pioneer started in July of 2009 and we just sent team to volunteer in one of the projects. The outline of the projects is 2 person (volunteers) will have to work a group 25 families in a specific area and support them to work in the 10 lines of Child Aid http://www.humana.org/TextPage.asp?MenuItemID=42&SubMenuItemID=98 . It’s generally in the lines of Health, Education & Environment. The Ecuador training is quite similar to that of the Africa programme but with special focus on the continent of South America and Ecuador. Unlike the Africa programme which consists of 14 – 20mths; The Latin America programme is just 9 months. The programme structure 3 months intensive training of Latin America, Ecuador and Spanish language amongst others vital skills. 1 month study investigation in Ecuador. Where they plan before trip on a Geographical area and specific group or community where they would like to investigate about their lifestyle. 4 months social volunteer work at one of the Child Aid projects in Ecuador 1 month camp future. The projects in Latin America are just 2yrs old but are have already been making tremendous impact on the communities where they’ve been established so far. 3000 families have already enrolled in the programmes and the project reaches 700 families for routine check ups each week at both projects.
