The 26-year-old forward is reunited with Ruben Baraja, who coached him during his time in charge of CD Tenerife. Under Baraja, he scored 9 goals in 28 appearances. Having come up through the youth system at AD Alcorcon and Real Madrid, Gomez has been capped by the Spanish Under-19 and Under-21 teams, scoring a total of 7 goals in 12 games.
