I was in the similar situation.
Coming back to the States may not be a problem (not gaurenteed though)
But you will risk losing your OPT application (being revoked)
by leaving the country before obtaining your EAD card
(according to International Student something something)
It's safer to check with your ISSS. The rules might change.
