我暑假计划去美国Columbia大学暑修 (不是语言课程)
看了学校网页上关於签证的说明,我还是不清楚我该申请哪种签证
http://www.ce.columbia.edu/summer/admissionInternational.cfm
People admitted to study at Columbia University who are not a United States
citizens or permanent residents must be a full-time student at
Columbia--registered for at least 12 points of credit-bearing courses per
term--in order to be eligible for a student (F-1) visa. Those who are
contemplating summer study at Columbia should know that in order to take 12
points they must register for the entire 12-week session. Students taking
non-credit bearing courses (such as noncredit foreign language or auditing
courses) are not eligible for F-1 status.
Eligible international students who wish to apply for an F-1 visa should do
so immediately after they have received their letter of admission to the
School of Continuing Education by contacting the International Students and
Scholars Office at Columbia (below) at least three months before the first
day of class. Students will then be sent information about obtaining an F-1
visa. Once in the United States in F-1 status, students must register for at
least 12 points of credit-bearing courses at the beginning of the semester
and remain so registered throughout the course of the academic term. Students
attending the Summer Session must register for the entire 12-week period at
the beginning of the first session. If a student neglects to do this, or if a
student falls below the 12-point minimum during the course of a term, the
student will be reported in violation of F-1 regulations to the United States
Department of Homeland Security.
Visitors (those in B-1, B-2, WB or WT status) are not allowed to visit the
United States for the purpose of taking courses at the University.
Regulations do not allow visitors (B-1, B-2, WT or WB) who intend to enroll
in classes at Columbia to enter the United States. However, a visitor already
in the United States is allowed to register for one 3-credit course per
semester while being a tourist in the United States, providing that the
course does not lead toward an academic goal and the visitor does not apply
for a change of non-immigrant status while in the United States.
International students who require a student (F-1) visa to study at Columbia
are required to pay an International Services fee.
是不是我只能够申请观光签证呢...
可以请板上有经验的人告诉我吗? 谢谢!
