4)An infinite cylinder at diameter d is uniformly charged with charge density
ρ. Determine the electric field as a function of radius r. (10%)
5)What are the conditions for a system under which the system can be treated
as a thermodynamics system? What are the spatial and temporal scales? (10%)

a)What is the "micro-state" for a thermal system? What is the "macro-state"?
Please give a few examples. What is entropy?
b)What is the postulate of equal apriori? What is the second law of thermal
dynamics? What is the relation between the postulate of equal apriori and

a)What is the zero-th law of thermal dynamics. Please explain it from the
statistical point of view.
b)What is the physical significance of temperature?
8)An idea gas at temperature T expands isothermally from the initial volume Vi
and pressure Pi to the final volume Vf, please calculate the total work done
and the heat transfer in the whole process. (10%)
9)Describe and explain the motion of a rolling coin on a flat horizontal
