标题[问题] 有关op-code fields的问题

Suppose a machine language is designed with an op-code field of four bits.
How many different instruction types can the language contain?
What if the op-code field is increased to eight?
这个完全看不懂
op-code 不是是and or 指令那些第一位吗
怎模会有4bits 完全搞不懂4bits的意思
还有增加到8
看不懂题目
所以根本不知道怎麽解
