When the Wolves' season ends April 16 against the Utah Jazz, a two-week window will open for the franchise and the coach to opt out of the final year of Adelman's four-year contract. According to a report from ESPN's Marc Stein, Adelman "has convinced more than a few folks in team circles that he's going to invoke his right to opt out of the final year ... and step away for good this summer." Before Friday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Adelman said he hadn't heard of the ESPN report. "I don't even know what report that is," Adelman said. "I have no idea. There are a lot of reports out there. There are a lot of experts. A lot of reports, lot of channels. I don't watch them all." When asked if he's given any thought to coaching next season, Adelman said, "I'm just concentrating on these games ... We'll find out if that happens, but right now I'm involved in this season and asking these guys to put the effort out every night. I don't know if that answers your question, but that is as good as I got." Last season, Adelman left the team for 11 games in January to deal with the health issues of his wife, Mary Kay. He missed a game earlier this season because of her health. Another time, he was away from team for about three days during a long road trip, but the team said that was not tied to her health. Adelman, 67, is in his third year as coach of the Wolves, who are 35-35 this season. He signed a four-year, $20 million contract before the 2011-12 season.
