Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. “We are pleased to add a versatile young player in Nikoloz,” McHale said. “He will give us added depth in our front-court.” Tskitishvili (full name is pronounced NI-ko-los SKEE-tish-VEE-lee), a 7-0, 225-pound forward, has averaged 3.0 points (.301 FG%, .743 FT%), 1.8 rebounds and 11.9 minutes per game in 155 career NBA contests over three seasons with the Denver Nuggets (2002-03 - first half of 2004-05) and the Golden State Warriors (second half of 2004-05). He was drafted by Denver in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2002 NBA Draft. Tskitishvili played for the Timberwolves’ entry in the 2005 Minnesota Summer League and averaged 13.5 points (.563 FG%, .571 3PT%, .833 FT%), 5.5 rebounds and 13.0 minutes per game in two contests. He posted 25 points (8-11 FG, 4-5 3PT, 5-6 FT) and 10 rebounds in 17 minutes vs. Milwaukee on July 15. Tskitishvili played just nine minutes on July 16 vs. New York before breaking the third metacarpal in his right hand, and missed the remainder of the Summer League. In 2004-05, he appeared in 35 games (1.4 ppg, 1.2 rpg and 6.23 mpg) split between Denver and Golden State. He was traded by the Nuggets to Golden State on Feb. 24, 2005 along with Rodney White in exchange for Eduardo Najera, Luis Flores and a future first round pick (from Dallas in 2007). Prior to joining the NBA, Tskitishvili played professionally for three seasons in Europe (one in Italy, two in Slovenia). His best season in Europe was with KK Slovan when he averaged 8.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 20.0 minutes per game in 2000-01. --
