Wong's fans, on the website wongfei.org, also hurled abuse on Tse, branding him a 'modern-day Chen Shimei', after a Chinese folk story character who forsook his wife. And a group of mothers, in a complaint faxed to the media, said they would stop their children from patronising Tse and Cheung's movies and CDs. They said Cheung, 21, is a meddler and that she and Tse are setting a bad example to kids by treating relationships as a game. Last Friday, Tse's pal and actor David Ng confirmed an Apple Daily query that the 21-year-old Tse had, two years ago, betted US$1 million (S$1.84 million) with him that he would succeed in wooing Wong, 32. After winning the bet, Tse was once heard chasing Ng for the money. But Ng maintained on Friday that it had all been a joke. Taiwan's Da Cheng Movie News also quoted a witness who saw Cheung sitting on Tse's lap in a Taipei pub last October. They were holding hands and appeared romantic. Meanwhile, Wong's pal and Taiwanese compere Matilda Tao told Hongkong papers that she saw the singer crying during a rehearsal in Shenzhen on March 23. Tse and Cheung were vacationing in Bangkok that day. Wong was said to have refused to talk to Tse when he telephoned her from Bangkok when news of that rendezvous broke. To all the accusations, Tse said last Friday: 'I am talked about whether or not we are a pair. When we're together, I am accused of making use of her for self-promotion.
