Been travelling quite a bit, in fact just returned from japan (fukuoka to be precise) for a music fest. I had such a blast! I performed for two days over the last weekend as part of an asian cultural exchange festival which is held yearly in Fukuoka called Asian Month. Was surprised to see some jap fans holding up my albums during the performance! The crowd was fabulous. Many turned up to watch performances be it dance from vietnam bhu tan or music from Singapore, Mongolia and Thailand. It's really heartwarming to see the interest and effort that the japanese make in getting to know other asian culture. I think that's something we can all learn from. We managed to set up a booth and sell Jupiter and had some autograph signing sessions too. Felt very good. Another thing worth mentioning and to be proud of is the Fukuoka Asia Culture Prize that Dick Lee received. It's a highly acclaimed and recognized award given to individuals who have contributed and made a difference in spreading arts and culture to all over the world. I was so proud as I sat in the audience, watching Dick perform. It's really something that would make any singaporean beam about. I hope someday I can somehow make that kind of difference too:-) On a lighter note, aside from the performances, we spent most of our time eating and shopping! typical singaporean I was haha. But who can blame me? If you had seen all the food on display (everything looked so yummy!) you would have fallen prey too. There's a great ramen stall which claims to be the best in town and I had the privilege to slurp on it....and the verdict? O-yee-shee!!!!!! Took a couple of pix along the way, will try to find a way to post them up for you guys. Next stop for me is Hu Nan and Beijing...perfect place for brushing up more of my mandarin you reckon?:-P Catch up with you guys soon. Meanwhile, stay safe and out of trouble eh?
