Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? 若我用夏天将你来做比方， Thou art more lovely and more temperate; 你比夏天更可爱也更温良； Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, 夏天的热风会催落五月的花苞， And Summer's lease hath all too short a date: 夏天的期限也未免太匆忙； Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines, 有时太阳如炬火使人间酷热难当， And often is his gold complexion dimm'd; 但转眼间有乌云遮盖了他金色的面庞； And every fair from fair sometimes declines, 美好的事物最终都会凋零落败， By chance, or nature's changing courese untrimm'd' 或见弃於机缘，或随自然而消亡。 But thy eternal summer shall not fade, 然而你的夏季却永垂不朽， Not lose possession of that fair thou ow'st, 你俊美的形像也永露光芒； Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade, 死神不能说你在他的阴影里流荡， When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st; 只因你永记在我那不朽的诗行。 So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, 只要人能呼吸，眼能看得清， So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. 我的诗就能不朽，万世留芳。 这首十四行诗可说是莎翁的代表作。它歌颂友谊之可贵；夏天虽美好， 但不及友谊之可爱及温良。然而友谊再美好却好不过诗人自己不朽的 诗篇。诗人喻言他的诗必夏天更能长远，因为夏天只是一年中的一季 ，比起友谊更珍贵，因为友谊只能传一代，人死情灭，但他的诗，却 能万代相传；只要人能呼吸，眼能看清，他的诗就将永远存在，万世 留芳。莎翁这首诗，可以说是一首歌颂文学可与时间抗衡的杰作。 《西洋情诗精选》 尹浩鏐 --
