标题[题目] 怪物 介系词後的动词

题目： The cabinet in the laboratory is designated for ____ instruments, and
no other items should be placed inside without a supervisor's approval
(A) to sterilize
(B) sterilized
(C) sterilizing
(D) sterilize
疑问：
由於介系词是for 当时没想太多就直接选Ving
但後来看解答 答案却是B
想问是因为省略了关代吗?? 不然不太晓得选B的原因
就是全文是 is designated for (which is) sterilized instruments
不知道自己理解有无错误

我没补习 刷题目上网自学 只是看到有说for後面只能加ving就记起来了@@
所以问题和关代完全没关系
是所有过去分词都可以用来作为形容词吗???

答案是C
记得when/while/as 後面的子句都要有完整句子
但前面的子句似乎没有动词(packing为动名词 shipping是名词) 这样算名词吗??
为什麽不能选During呢??

e大 我知道了 ing 是现在分词 会变成 乐器自己主动消毒 所以要用过去分词 被动
