Proverbs 22:29 “Not (be) slothful in business; (but instead be) fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.” Romans 12:11 “Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds.” Proverbs 27:23 三、多益英检文法整理 1. skilled(adj):熟练的，有技能的，Proverbs:箴言书，serve(V):服事， rank(N):阶级、军阶、排行，slothful(adj):懒散的，fervent(adj):热情的， instead(adv):代替，diligent(adj):辛勤的，state(N):国家、现况，flock(N):(羊)群 ，Romans:罗马书，herd(N):牧群 2. skilled原文希伯来文有指quick、diligent、skilful与ready之意，因此有所谓 quick to respond(迅速回应)的意思。 A. John is highly skilled at dealing with difficult customers. 约翰对於应付难缠的客人相当有一套。 B. Furniture-making is very skilled work. 家具制造是相当需要技术的工作。 3. 箴言22篇在这里的章节也指出，一旦经营企业勤快就会出现growth(N):成长，而 成长则带来wealth(N):财富。罗马书中，所使用的slothful(adj):懒散的，有 slowness(N):慢的与indolence(N):懒散与laziness(N):懒惰，企业如果没有视消费者为 上宾，自然就会将客户drive customers away(赶跑生意了。) 4. instead也可以instead of替换，例如: A. My sister was ill so I went instead. (我妹妹生病了，我已我去了。) B. He didn’t go. Instead, he chose to stay here. (他并没有走，反而他选择留下来。) We just had some bread instead of a full meal. (我们只吃了一些面包，并没有吃到全餐。) C. I can walk to office instead of going by car. (我可以走路到办公室，并不用开车了。) D. If you had worked harder, you would not have failed.
