一、加拿大币最近很夯，因为在众多货币中，它都涨了，所以，买了加币的人，这下都乐 透了吧。 二、内文: Canada’s dollar reached the strongest level since May 2008 as the nation’s economy and employment grew more than forecast, boosting confidence in the recovery. “The strength in the employment number attracted some new interest to step into the market to sell the U.S. dollar and buy the Canadian dollar,” said George Davis, chief technical analyst for fixed income and currency strategy in Toronto at Royal Bank of Canada. “We had a very solid employment report,” said Steve Butler, director of foreign-exchange trading in Toronto at Bank of Nova Scotia’s Scotia Capital unit. “The Bank of Canada is going to have to start thinking about when it’ s going to start hiking rates again.” 三、多益英检文法重点: 1. reach(V):抵(达)，level(N):程度，部位，economy(N):经济，employment(N):就业， forecast(V、N):预估，boost(V):提升，激励，recovery(N):复原，attract(V):吸引， step into:投入，fixed income:固定收益，currency(N):，频率，这里指货币， strategy(N):策略，solid(adj):坚固的，这里指强劲的，trade(N):贸易，这里指交易， hike rate"上调利率。 2.这篇提到许多金融相关名词，例如Canada dollar(加币)、economy(经济)、 employment(就业率)、confidence(消费者信心)、recovery(最近最夯的经济复苏)、 number(数据)、interest(利率、一般指兴趣)、market(投资市场)、analyst(分析师)、 income(收入)、currency(货币)与foreign-exchange(货币交易)，於是各位要注意的其形 容词与动词啦，例如strong(热门或强劲)，相反词是weak(乏人问津或软)，recovery(复 苏)，相反词有recession(衰退、不景气)、buy(买)与sell(卖)这里都然是指"货币"有虚 拟的味道，purchase(购买)，则买的是实体的东西。 3. hike rate是指上调利率，意思是increase the rate rapidly，相反词是cut the rate:下调利率，其中，通常由Central Bank(中央银行)执行，美国则是由联准会(The Fedreal Reserve)执行，用以tame(抑制)通膨(inflation)，通货紧缩则是deflation， boost(V):刺激，相反词是relax，surplus(盈余)，赤字为deficit。 4.其实读金融文章时，除了必要的名词需记得外，其形容词(2对)一起记最快了，老美会 用到的单字不就是那几各字，当然专业的名词，又另当别论啦，这里指的是多益会出现的 单字。 5. reach(V):抵达，这里指的是"来到"的意思，第一行可翻译为:受经济成长与就业率超 乎先前预测，增加民众对经济复苏的信心，加拿大币来到自2008年5月以来，新高部位纪 录。reach相关单字还有overreach(过火导致失败)、outreach(N):从事社区服务、 farreaching(adj):影响深远的与unreachable(adj):无法抵达的。 .更多看我的部落格 http://tw.myblog.yahoo.com/raymondchuang-toeic/ 原新闻网址： --
