When Ving...., S V.... 这一个用法还满正常的 ex. When walking on the street, he was bitten by a dog. 这个写法的意思就是 When he walked on the street, he was bitten by a dog. 只是因为when子句的he跟主要子句里面的he重复 所以可以把when里面的he给省掉 walked改walking 所以「修饰语没有动词」是很正常的 他可能是被简化掉了 以Ving的方式呈现 如上面这个case 但是你的问题 When disposing of expired credit cards, it is wise to cut them in half. 还原成原来的样子 会变成When it is disposing of expired credit cards 这样就会很怪 因为主要子句里面的it is是一个虚主词带头的句子 这边的虚主词it是无法执行前方的dispose的 这才是这个句子最有毛病的地方 另外一个句子 The company's standing in the telecommunications industry was forged ____ years of putting the custom's needs first 这边的话句型架构就跟上面的case完全不一样 如果把一些多余的修饰语拿掉 句子的主要意义大概都会还存在 则上面这句话会变成 The company's standing was forged ___ years. 其中 in the telecommunications industry 是修饰"standing"(地位) of putting the custom's needs first 是修饰years 因此 [years of putting the custom's needs first] 可视为一个长的名词片语 此时 如果空格里面填when The company's standing was forged when years. 看了就会很奇怪 因为when应该後面是要接一个句子 如果是一个year带头的名词片语 就会没头没尾的 所以你手上的解答本才会把when这个选项给删掉 --
