In that connection, the Court emphasises the crucial role of proceedings in
cassation, which form a special stage of the criminal proceedings whose
consequences may prove decisive for the accused.
请问大大，
最後一行的倒数第四个字"decisive"的词性及该如何翻译呢?
查字典这个字应该是形容词，
但是如果是形容词就怪怪的，因为在文法上既不能形容动词prove，
形容词後面我记得也不能接for来修饰那个後面的名词accused，
实在是看不懂，有请指点~
