最近同学应该在网路上有看到一张图，是一个多益的题目，疑似有时空旅人 出题， 题目是： ______ in Wuhan, China, the flu spread rapidly throughout the country. 给了四个选项： A）Origin B) Originate C) Originated D) Originating A, B两个选项应该可以直接删掉没问题，但好多同学C跟D之间无法确定。 其实这题考的是分词构句＋惯用语两个点，也难怪很难选。 首先先说分词构句部分，分词ing还是ed看是主动还是被动，如果选C, 原本 的句子会变成the flu was originated in Wuhan, 但中文说起源於...英文 就是直接用originate这个字，是主动的用法，所以应该是the flu originated in Wuhan,，原本的两个句子是： 1) The flu originated in Wuhan. 2) The flu spread rapidly throughout the country. 两个句子合在一起就变成了： Originating in Wuhan, the flu spread rapidly throughout the country. 这个问题对托福来说或许关联性没有很强，毕竟不考文法的选择题，但是对 於独立写作来说，却很实用喔！ 我们来看怎麽把这种句型用在introduction首段！ 假设一个题目是问政府该不该盖核电厂，introduction可能可以这样写： There have been numerous controversies concerning whether or not the government should build the nuclear power plant. Recognizing the importance of its ability to generate tremendous electricity compared to any other power plants, I, however, maintain that the government should not build the nuclear power plant because of the following three reasons. 可以利用分词构句的句型，表达「了解到核电厂发电量很大，但我还是觉得 政府不应该盖核电厂，因为以下三个理由。」 这里同学应该也可以发现到，这是英文作文首段很常用的方式，在表明自己 立场前，会先说反方的优点，简单来说就是先赞成反方，在提出己方的论 点。 可以看一下其他不同网路文章的首段： While work is widely viewed as the major source of stress for Americans, new research shows that people have significantly lower stress levels when they are at the office compared to their time at home.
