hat the airline may delay deliveries of Boeing (NYSE:BA) aircraft if new U.S. tr
ade tariffs significantly raise costs, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.
O’Leary told the FT that Ryanair could postpone the delivery of 25 jets schedul
ed from August until at least March or April 2026 if the U.S. imposes new import
tariffs.
His comments come as the aviation industry faces mounting uncertainty due to U.S
. President Donald Trump’s proposed 10% levy on imported finished aircraft and
additional 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum, key components in aircraft manufac
turing, the FT reported.
CEO of Europe’s largest low-cost airline highlighted an intensifying dispute o
ver who would shoulder tariff costs — manufacturers or airlines.
Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE:DAL) has also said it would defer Airbus (EPA:AIR) del
iveries if tariffs are applied, according to the report.
