Upper Deck has announced that Boston Red Sox ace Daisuke Matsuzaka has signed an exclusive autograph and memorabilia deal for its baseball brands in 2007. The deal grants Upper Deck the exclusive rights within the trading card category for autographed baseball cards and memorabilia cards. The first of Matsuzaka's Upper Deck exclusive in pack autographs and memorabilia cards will be included in Upper Deck's Goudey Baseball (SRP $4.99 releases August 23), UD Future Stars (SRP $4.99 releases in mid September), SP Rookie Edition Baseball (SRP $4.99 releases September 6) and UD Masterpieces Baseball (SRP $6.99 releases mid-October). "Daisuke Matsuzaka has been a big story this year, everyone in the hobby wants to get his Upper Deck exclusive autograph and game-used cards," commented Louise Curcio, Vice President of Marketing for Upper Deck.
