Injury forces Ferrer out
David Ferrer, who was due to head Spain's Davis Cup by BNP Paribas team in
its forthcoming encounter with Peru in Lima, has been forced to pull out
after injuring his calf.
The Spanish Tennis Federation doctor Angel Ruiz-Cotorro told the RFET
website; "He's got a severe strain in the area between the calf and the
Achilles' Tendon in his left leg. He needs to rest for five or six days and
take anti-inflammatories before a new evaluation so he has been ruled out of
the trip to Peru."
Spanish Davis Cup captain Emilio Sanchez Vicario has nominated world No. 37
Feliciano Lopez to take Ferrer's place for the first round tie, which takes
place on 8-10 February. Lopez will join Tommy Robredo, Fernando Verdasco and
Nicolas Almagro in Lima.
根据Ferrer在他网站说的，他在一觉起床後发现小腿疼痛，去医院检查後，医生说他
需要一段时间的休息。虽然已经为了红土球场准备练习了四天，他认为要替国家队赢
得比赛，需要有100%的状态，所以只好退出这次的比赛。他相信队友也祝西班牙队好
