The Sixers are trying to sign Iguodala to a contract extension before today’ s deadline in the NBA players’ collective bargaining agreement. If the sides fail to reach agreement on an extension by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, Iguodala will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, leaving the Sixers with the right of first refusal should he agree to an offer sheet with another team. “This is where I want to be,” said Iguodala, who has a $2.8 million contract for this season. “If (an extension) happens, then great. If it doesn ’t, I’ve still got to go out and play ball.” The Philadelphia Daily News reported that Iguodala’s agent, Rob Pelinka, flew from California over the weekend to meet with Sixers president and general manager Billy King. Pelinka, a former University of Michigan basketball player, is also Kobe Bryant’s agent.
