标题说起shaman

今天难得念了一篇times上的蒙古游记
看到最後一段出现了一个令我吃惊的单字：shaman。
有看通灵的大家应该都知道，
通灵人叫shaman，通灵王就是shaman king，
但总不可能蒙古是出产通灵人的地方，
而且下面的注释也明显不像：
Buddhism dominates in Mongolia, but shamanism thrives as well.
简译如下：
蒙古以信奉佛教为主，但萨满教也在此占重要地位。
後来我查字典，所谓的shaman是指黄教，也就是蒙古的宗教之一，
shamanism就是萨满教。
原来这才是通灵的字源啊…
