Some high schools require all students to wear school uniforms. Other high schools permit students to decide what to wear to school. Which of these school policies do you think is better? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. ============================================================= Nowadays, most high schools require students to wear uniforms. We can easily recognize where a student is from by his or her dressing. Some students oppose such compulsory rules, while others pride themselves on wearing uniforms. The former think it is unreasonable to be deprived of the right of choice; nonetheless, the latter prefer the unity of all. From my point of view, wearing uniform is a favorable policy. First of all, the design of uniforms stands for the characteristics of school, such as the color, the emblem and so on. Students can identify with the school when wearing the uniforms; in the mean time, feel in sympathy with those who wear the same. It is a good way to bring the members into harmony. Secondly, if students have no choice but to wear uniforms, they can save the money and time to decide what to wear tomorrow. For adolescents, appearance is strongly significant and worthy of careful consideration. However, uniforms provide an option to skip the troublesome step. Last but not least, uniforms are memorable objects after graduation. We spend our whole schooldays in uniforms. Therefore, whenever we see them, the youth hood will jog our memory. There is a common activity held in most universities, which is called “Uniform Day”, and students have to wear their previous uniforms to class. That is fundamentally a form of memorial. On account of the three reasons mentioned above, I think uniform-requiring is a better policy for me. --
