Some people believe that a college or university education should be available to all students. Others believe that higher education should be available only to good students. Discuss these views. Which view do you agree with? Explain why. == In my personal definition, good students are those who have specific expertise of their own best interests. Good students are not those only follow elders’ order or look for their own superiority in academic record. So, I think every student is a good student possibly for a filed and colleges or universities should provide chance for all students. Following will show why I support this viewpoint. First of all, everyone has great potential in certain field. One could be a great master in a field of his or her best interest. We can not ignore such possibility. Meanwhile, I think no other person has right to determine which kind of knowledge is needed and which one is not needed. Diversity of knolwdeg is necessary to maintain and even improve the human society. For example, arts provide us joyful experience of abstract and aesthetic formation. Science leads us to the discovery of unknown parts of this world. Engineering helps us to realize the ideas or concepts which could make our life better and more convenient. So, all students of diverse fields should be allowed to higher education. In addition, I don’t think good students necessarily promise the best performance. Sometimes the best work is done by those who are not originally considered as good students. In other words, those who can concentrate on their work and dedicate themselves are more reliable than good students. Diligent students can balance their drawbacks by devoting themselves. In summary, since all kinds of knowledge are needed to sustain a complete society, we need students of different skills. Even more, we need them to push our society forward. Besides, those who work hard can even do better than those who are smart. They intend to dedicate themselves for their responsibilities. Thus, higher education should be available for all students instead of only good students. -- --
