Why in the world is living in university dormitories preferable? I think there are at least three main reasons as follows. First of all, the expense is the chief consideration for them. Living outside needs considerable money, including rents, food, utilities, telephone, and gas. Due to the heavy burden, most students choose a cheaper place to live. Generally, dormitories are narrower and cruder but cheaper than apartments. The safety purpose may be the second reason. In school dormitories, one must use an identity card to enter or call your roommate to open the door. In addition, there is a guardian near the entrance. In contrast, no safeguard for those who live in apartments. Especially, if a student lives alone, more care is indispensable. The third one seems not very essential but sometimes very essential. Less distance from the school, the less time you cost to go to and fro. In case of examination, you can save your spare time to study.
