Some people think governments should spend as much money as possible exploring outer space (for example, traveling to the Moon and to other planets). Other people disagree and think governments should spend this money for our basic needs on Earth. Which of these two opinions do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to support your opinion. I strongly agree that governments should spend as much money as possible building basic needs. In my opinion, basic needs are much useful than exploring outer space. For of all, building basic needs could benefit for all citizens, however, exploring outer space only use for academic research. Second, we can spend limited money to build a useful basic need rather than spend lots of money to explore outer space just find nothing. After all, in our knowledge, Earth is only planet which has being. Here is why I think the governments should spend money for improving our basic needs. There are detailed reasons as follows. To begin with, building mass transit system could enhance the traffic situation in the big city. I speak for personal experience. In Taipei, taking mass transit system is much convenient and comfortable that driving a car. Not only save the oil-usage, but also reduce carbon dioxide release. Furthermore, taking a mass transit system could prevent Earth from global warming. For another, building a library in the countryside could diminish difference in education resource between the city and the countryside. Thus, it is important to increase the whole nations’ education level. In addition, exploring outer space to find another planet which has being is a impractical aim. Explore outer space had been processing for a long time. Until now, we still find nothing. Furthermore, traveling in space is very expensive. Only the billionaire could afford. It is just a dream for most people to travel to the Moon. It is without any doubt that science and technology are good for the whole society. However, my view is that our governments should consider the whole nation rather than only care about a few people. Considering the above reasons, I strongly recommend that governments should build basic needs which the society need rather than explore outer space. Thus, our countries’ foundation will be stronger. Moreover, our national living standard will advance. --
