4.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Modern technology is creating a single world culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. Recently, with the invention of Internet and cell phone, the world seems to form different cultures into a single world culture. There may be one or two opposite opinions to agree with that modern technology is creating a single world culture; however, I believe that there are far more reasons to agree with this statement. My arguments for this point of view are listed as follows. First of all, perhaps one drawback to agree with the statement is that every country or society has its own unique culture. For instance, the ancient country or society, such as China or Egypt, has created its own culture for a long time and never changed. Even the new independent or colonial country, like U.S.A. or Singapore, also creates its special culture. Even though there may be one or two opposite opinions to the statement, the affirmative reasons far outweigh them. The main reason for my preference for agreeing with the statement is that the modern technology has broken the barriers of time and distance, and simplified our lives. It can be given a concrete example that we can take the air planes to any destinations we want with a high speed. Therefore, we can save a lot of time for traveling, and taking air planes has become a common way for people to go abroad. Furthermore, another reason for my inclination for agreeing with the statement is that the modern technology uniforms and integrates our lives into a single and convenient life. For example, through the invention of Internet and cell phone, everyone in the world has to learn how to use these two kinds of tools during his/her lifetime. Due to the regular utilization of these two tools, we have adopted them into our lives, and changed our lives and cultures progressively. For all of the above reasons, in spite of the fact that there may have one or two opposite opinions to agree with the statement that modern technology is creating a single world culture, I still consider that the affirmative reasons are more persuasive. Taking into account of all these above factors, we may reach the conclusion that modern technology is creating a single world culture. --
