Describe a custom from your country that you would like people from other countries to adopt. Explain your choice, using specific reasons and examples. ============================================================================== There are many amazing characteristics in my country, Taiwan. The most arresting characteristic is night market where many visitors will visit when they come to Taiwan. By the way, Taiwanese like to bargain the price of product with those vendors in night market. I would like to introduce this custom to the others, because I think that this custom is very special for some foreigners. My supporting ideas are as below and illustrate why it is. To begin with, how to negotiate the price of product is a very important custom for Taiwanese to buy some things in night market. Actually, many products in night market are not belonging to any famous brand, and their prices are much lower than those similar products in department store. But Taiwanese still like to negotiate the prices in order to have the lower prices. For example, the initial price of a T-shirt is 300 New Taiwan Dollars, and the Taiwanese will try some way to bargain the price until they attain their goals. For the reason, the custom is very popular in the night market of Taiwan. If you have a chance to visit the night market of Taiwan, and you never negotiate the price to those vendors. Those vendors will feel very surprised, because this is a part of Taiwanese culture. Additionally, the culture of bargain is not only existed in night market but also flooded the different situation of buying products. Take many little stores among the Taipei city as example, nowadays, we are used to bargain the prices to those sellers of little store. Even though the initial prices of the products which we desire to buy are reasonable rather than expensive, but we still negotiate the prices in order to show the unique custom of Taiwan. In some case, we don't really care about the money which we save by bargain, our major purpose just want to have some interaction with the vendors by negotiating. Therefore, the custom is pervasive among the Taiwanese society. In conclusion, sometimes, the major purpose of bargain is in order to have a lower price. Sometimes, the main reasons just want to have some interaction with those sellers. Many people believe that when you visit a country, it is better to behave like those residents. For the reason, no matter what is the real reason of bargain, I believe that it is better for foreigner to adopt the unique culture of Taiwan. --
