The main reasons for people to attend college is to gain professional knowledge and skills. Besides, going to college may also improve one's social ability and cultivate one's independence, since most of the college students live far from their hometown. My personal experience and actual observations have led me to say so. I have just graduated from university. Things what I have learned there were not just all about my major, though it's also important to study those subjects. My major is Pharmacy, which is difficult and consumes time very much. I had to study hard, take much time discussing homework with my classmates, and search the internet or look up papers in the library to solve problems. By teamwork, it saved me lots of time; furthermore, I learned more about cooperation with others. The university which I studied is far from my hometown. It was the very first time for me to leave my parents. Everything I need all have to be prepared by myself, such as commodities, finding house to rent, and financial management. Those things were not easy to me at first, so I had to be strong and learn to be independent. This really helps me grow up. Reasons for people to attend college are well documented, and the reasons for me are that I can obtain not just powerful professional knowledge but social skills and personal independence. My college life did cultivate me into a mature and professional one. --
